RUMFORD — Town Clerk Beth Bellegarde said absentee ballots for the June 12 statewide primary are available at the Town Office.

The deadline to request one is Thursday. They must be returned no later than 8 p.m. June 12.

There have been at least 200 requests for absentee ballots, with half of those returned, Bellegarde said.

Fifteen-minute parking signs in front of and behind the Town Office will make it easier for people to get absentee ballots. The signs are an effort to provide more parking during replacement of sewer and water systems on The Island, the downtown business district, Town Manager Linda-Jean Briggs.
