1 min read

Morris Cote, 82, of Houlton, pins the badge on his son, John Cote, of China at his swearing in as chief of the Maine State Police on Monday in Augusta. A 29-year veteran of the agency, Cote served as deputy chief for the past two years. He succeeds Col. Robert Williams, who retired this year. Cote will oversee an authorized complement of 341 sworn personnel, from troopers to colonels, who provide services including criminal investigations, underwater recoveries and crisis negotiations.
