Otisfield Historical Society presentation

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Historical Society invites the public to its meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, for a program on “Otisfield Cellar Holes.” The meeting will be held at the Old Town House, 53 Bell Hill Road.

Presenter Alan Douglas has been climbing in and out of a variety of depressions throughout town in order to understand who made them and why. He will present a sample of his findings, including the foundation for the old Sylvester home now on Jacob’s Way and several holes in the Jugtown area, now owned by the Hancock Lumber Company.

People are encouraged to bring photos and other information about their own favorite sites and join the continuing discussion of who, what, where and why. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Flag Day ceremony

LITCHFIELD — Carrie Ricker School, 573 Richmond Road, invites the public to a Flag Day ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14. 

The ceremony will feature presentations and singing by students in kindergarten through 5th grade.

Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. Awards will be given out during the ceremony for winners of the Flag Day contests. Damaged or faded flags may sent to the school or brought on June 14.

Christian Women United luncheon

PARIS — The Christian Women United luncheon will take place on Tuesday, June 19, at 11:30 a.m. at the South Paris First Congregations Church, 17 East Main St.
