Carrabassett Library summer hours
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Summer hours at Carrabassett Valley Public Library, 3209 Carrabassett Drive, will be in place from June 20 through Sept. 1.
The library will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
Summer hours at Robinson Library
SUMNER — The Increase Robinson Library in East Sumner village will be open all summer. The hours are 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, go to www.increaserobinsonlibrary.org.
Veterinarian to speak at Society
PARIS — Matthew Holden, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine will speak on his many years as a veterinarian in the Town of Paris to the Paris Cape Historical Society on 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21.
Holden treats the pets of the area as well as large animals on the surrounding farms. He is very knowledgeable in his field, having enjoyed a long career.
The public is welcome to this meeting, after which refreshments will be served.
The Paris Cape Historical Society museum is now open from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursdays. Genealogies, histories of Paris, cemetery records and historical artifacts are available to see and consult. All are welcome to become members of the society.
Storytelling Guild to swap stories
FARMINGTON — A storytelling swap will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, downstairs at St. Joseph Parish Hall, by the intersection of Middle and Quebec streets.

Benefit dinner, dance at Eagles
RUMFORD — A spaghetti dinner and dance will be held from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, June 22, at the Eagles Club, 129 Rumford Ave. to benefit Anna Thurston, who was recently diagnosed with stage three lung cancer.
Cost for dinner and dance is $15, dance only $10, dinner only $8, children 12 and under $5. There will be a Chinese Auction, bake sale and 50/50. Music will be provided by the Hooligans.
