The Livermore Public Library celebrates its 100th anniversary Tuesday with an open house. In 1916, with the assistance of 10 yokes of oxen, the former little red schoolhouse of Brettun’s Mills was moved to its current location. The library opened in 1917. Sophia Archer of Dixfield loves books. She and her grandmother had been swimming at Brettun’s Pond and stopped Tuesday after seeing a sign for the open house celebrating the Livermore Public Library’s 100th anniversary. (Pam Harnden/Livermore Falls Advertiser)
