Five shoe companies have been invited to Museum L-A to tell their story of how they are still making shoes in Maine to this day. Representatives from L.L. Bean were the first of the five to start installing a new display in the museum’s permanent gallery space, including machinery, photos and, of course, Bean boots. More redesign projects in the permanent exhibits will be completed throughout the summer. A grand reopening will be announced in the coming weeks. L.L. Bean employees from left are Luke Koelker, Heather Belanger and Allie Fowles. For more information, contact [email protected] or call 207-333-3881.
