LEWISTON — A local man robbed a store with a knife on Sabattus Street early Tuesday morning, police said.
Jonathan Norman Thibodeau, 34, was arrested Wednesday and charged with robbery, punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
Police said in a news release issued Wednesday that a clerk at the Sabattus Street General Store (formerly Elizabeth Ann’s) at 415 Sabattus St. reported a men came into the store demanding money and threatening the clerk with a knife. He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Patrol officers and detectives launched a probe and eventually identified Thibodeau as the suspect.
He was taken to Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn where he was held in lieu of $10,000 cash bail and a probation hold.
