Mike Brooks pulls a hay rake with his 75-year-old tractor Monday at the Packard-Littlefield farm in Lisbon. The beef cow farmer said he had 25 acres of hay to bail before the rain begins Tuesday. “The rain has been great for us farmers,” Brooks said. “The rain has helped us tremendously.” Brooks has 30 head of beef cows at his farm in Sabattus. He hays the fields at the Packard-Littlefield farm, which is owned by Joe Daley and his wife, Susan Thornton, formerly the United States’ top diplomat in East Asia . (Daryn Slover/Sun Journal)
