LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce is offering a free seminar, Working the Workforce: Understanding Substance use Disorders, from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the chamber’s Community Conference Room, 415 Lisbon St.
The presenter is Nicole Garant, LADC, CCS, adult and child clinical services manager for Tri-County Mental Health Services.
The seminar is geared to employers and colleagues concerned about the effects of substance abuse. It will offer attendees an understanding of the various substances and the effects they have on someone who is under the influence, as well as issues with withdrawal, opiates and medication therapies, levels of care and area resources for employees who may be addicted.
Participants can bring a lunch. Parking is available in the parking garage just before the chamber but the chamber does not validate parking. There is limited on-street parking. Additional parking is available across the street.
