POLAND — Candidates for state Senate District 20 and House Districts 65 and 66 are invited to participate in a forum from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in the Town Office conference room.

The forum is presented by Friends of Ricker Library and will be televised on the public access channel and available at townhallstreams.com/locations/poland-me.

Because the six candidates don’t live in Poland, the forum is an opportunity for residents to learn their views and positions and candidates to get to know residents.

Democrat Ned Claxton of Auburn and incumbent Republican Ellie Espling of New Gloucester are running for Senate District 20. The seat is held by Eric Brakey of Auburn.

House District 65 candidates are Republican Amy Arata and Democrat Misty Coolidge, both of New Gloucester. The seat is held by Espling.

House District 66 candidates are incumbent Democrat Jessica Fay and Republican Gregory Foster, both of Raymond.

Voters will have the chance to question the candidates at the forum or by call-in.  Those who want to submit questions ahead of time may email them to lcarey@polandtownoffice.

Election Day is Nov. 6. Absentee ballots may be picked up from the town clerk starting Oct. 8.
