AUBURN — A local man was indicted by an Androscoggin County grand jury Tuesday on charges stemming from a shooting on Ash and Blake streets in July.

James L. Crump, 41, was charged with attempted elevated aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
He was convicted of trafficking cocaine, on Feb. 27, 2008, in the Bristol County Court in Taunton, Massachusetts, which prohibited him from owning a firearm.
According to Lewiston police reports, Crump fired four or five shots at a woman near Blake and Ash streets at 4 a.m. July 1. Bullets struck the side of an apartment house.
Crump is scheduled to appear Friday in Androscoggin County Superior Court.
