LEWISTON – Lionel Morency, 86, our beloved father, a former longtime resident of Oak Park in Lewiston, passed away on October 6, 2018, at the Odd Fellows Home in Auburn. He was born in Lewiston on January 27, 1932, the son of Willie and Honora Ruel Morency. Educated in local schools, he married the love of his life, the former Rita Lacasse, on October 4, 1952. He served in the US Air Force, and after his discharge he went to work as a carpenter until his retirement. An avid reader, Lionel enjoyed researching genealogy, but his greatest joy came from time spent with family. He was a devoted husband for 66 years, and as his wife’s Alzheimer worsened over the past few years, his main purpose in life became making her smile and laugh.  A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he is survived by his beloved wife Rita of Auburn, daughter Diane Caron and husband Paul of Auburn, daughter Claire Davis and husband Ron of Lewiston, daughter Lucie Beauchesne and husband Don of Taunton, MA, son Paul of Orlando FL, daughter Elaine St. Pierre and husband Scott of Lewiston, and daughter Denise Chapman and husband Daniel of Freeport, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday, 11 AM, Holy Family Church, with interment at Gracelawn Memorial Park.  Donations, condolences, and a video tribute may be found online at www.albert-burpee.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to:
