LIVERMORE — A Chesterville man and 12-year-old Livermore/Jay boy were injured Saturday when the snowmobiles they were driving collided on Round Pond in Livermore, said Cpl. John MacDonald, spokesman for the Maine Warden Service, on Monday.
Liam Flagg, 12, of Livermore/Jay and Shawn Soucy, 44, of Chesterville were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, he said.
Flagg received internal injuries, and Soucy received leg injuries, according MacDonald.
The crash was reported about 1:25 p.m.
The accident remains under investigation, but it “appears that speed and inattention may have contributed to the crash,” according to MacDonald.
Soucy was operating a 2003 Ski-Doo Renegade 800 and Flagg was on a 2008 Yamaha FX Nitro 1000.
Game wardens were assisted at the scene by Maine State Police, Livermore Fire Department, and Turner Rescue and NorthStar EMS ambulances.
