TURNER — The state Fire Marshal’s Office said Tuesday that the fire that destroyed a pole barn at 44 Knight Farm Road on Monday night will remain undetermined.

Sgt. Ken Grimes said that due to the extent of the damage, he wasn’t able to pinpoint where the fire started or what caused it.

It was a very large pole barn with no interior dividers,” Grimes said. “By the time I got there Tuesday morning, there was nothing left to look at.”

He said there were several power sources in the barn and had something gone wrong with any of them, it could have caused a fire.

Unfortunately, I can’t even tell where the fire started, let alone which source caused it,” Grimes said.

According to Dulsie Varney, who lives on the property with her husband, Troy, nobody was home at the time of the fire, and no animals were injured.
