NORWAY — A recurring event in Norway, open to the community free of charge, House Lorax, 290 Main St., welcomes all to their second-floor gallery, studio and art space. The first Friday of every month House Lorax hosts an evening of performance art such as creative dance, live music, yoga flow, live art and painting, and open studio for creative or ecstatic movement for anyone and everyone. The gallery space features art from local creators, and their kitchen provides free food, beverages and great conversation.

The Blindman’s Ball on Friday, March 1 will feature local artists:

• Lauren Goodwin – A crafter by nature, Goodwin is an architectural designer by day and an aerialist, dancer and creator at all other times. On display will be some of Goodwin’s creations from her self-made business Long Eared Designs, where she creates graphic art on many different types of mediums.

• Hannah Gentempo – Gentempo is a lifelong dancer and co-creator of NEVAEH dance circus, massage therapist, vintage clothing shop owner and artist. She has numerous collages on display at House Lorax, all with abstract themes and ideas, and a spin of vintage inspiration that shines thorough in both her art and clothing available for purchase.

• Ethereal Arts – Created by artists Cheyenne Stubbs and Bob Briggs, Ethereal arts came to join House Lorax after looking for a local space to teach and hang their unique art. Both serve the surrounding towns as Emergency Service Personnel and dedicate their spare time to teaching and providing local art to Norway.

All activities are free and open to community participation. There is no charge for this event although donations are welcome at the door.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the event will run until 11 p.m. For more information about this event and becoming a collective member, contact the administrators at [email protected] or visit www.houselorax.org.
