• Maple Way Dental Care is hosting its annual Halloween Candy Buy Back AND free skate with free rentals at Norway Savings Bank Arena, 985 Turner St. in Auburn from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1. For every pound of candy brought in, the person will get $1 and their school will get $1. All candy will be donated to U.S. military troops through Operation Gratitude.

• The Lewiston Youth Advisory Council will host a Truck or Treat from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Connors Elementary School, 400 Bartlett St., Lewiston. There will be special guests, a firetruck with crew, lots of candy — plus many costumed characters, including Lucy the Lion.
