AUBURN — The Auburn Fire Department is investigating an early morning house fire that displaced two people on Sunday.

Fire crews were called just after 6 a.m. to a two-story, single-family home at 285 Park Ave. Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Fifield said crews found smoke around the eaves of the home when they arrived. Inside, they found fire.

“It only took them a few minutes and they got the fire under control,” he said. “But the fire did extend through the first and second floors.”

The home’s two occupants got out before firefighters arrived. There were no injuries.

While the home was not destroyed, the interior was damaged. The house is insured.

The Red Cross helped the displaced residents with food and finding a safe place to sleep.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
