The tradition of preparing Minot Christmas Baskets has continued in honor of Eda Tripp. Brittany Hemond has headed the effort to make sure that families receive food for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day and gifts for the holidays. This year there were 98 tags serving 54 children and baskets for 28 households. West Minot Village Trading Post collected $1,900 to buy gifts, provide stockings and stuffers and donate to the food drive. In addition, more than $2,100 has been donated to the Eda’s Elf Fund. The funds go toward buying groceries and gift cards and can serve as gap coverage if a household does not qualify for traditional general assistance.
