The annual musical of the Women’s Literary Union will be held at Webster Grammar School hall next Thursday evening. The program will be out of the ordinary, and is being anticipated with much pleasure. Miss Helen Porter, one of the artists, devotes special attention to child songs. She is said to excel in impersonating child nature, and her voice is beautiful. Miss Augusta Van Atta, who comes with her, has made a special study of Indian songs, which she sings dressed in Indian costume. Her voice is a rich contralto of a wide range. Mrs. James T. Sleeper daughter of Prof. Pilcher of Auburn will be the accompanist, taking the place of Harry Elliot Planten, who is unable to come on account of illness in his family.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Huntress presented a program of colored slides when Stanton Bird Club members met Monday evening at the High Street Congregational Church. Among the interesting photos were some of evening grosbeaks at the feeder at their home and some of a nest containing eggs showing the various stages of development. As the films were shown, Mrs. Huntress gave a commentary. Of much interest were the views of a baby loon with a broken leg and a mother loon taking off showing the wide wing spread of the bird. They also included a flicka in a telephone pole which Mrs. Huntress stood on a ladder to take, a blacked bill cuckoo, a rather rare bird in this area, was also shown along with many cowbird eggs in other birds nests.

The material used in Looking Back is produced exactly as it originally appeared although misspellings and errors may be corrected.
