LEWISTON — The Police Department is investigating shots fired Monday afternoon at Poirier’s Market at 38 Walnut St.

Police responded about 2:36 p.m. but did not report any injuries or possible motive. A vehicle driven away as police arrived was found abandoned soon after and the driver fled on foot. A police K-9 searched the area and the vehicle was towed away.

No arrests were reported by mid-evening and police are continuing to investigate.
