Lily M. Gagnon

LEWISTON – Lily M. Gagnon, 89, died in peace at The Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice House of natural causes. She was swept away on May 20, 2021, by angels to join her husband, Richard P. Gagnon, who passed away in 2009.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 15, 1931, to Richard and Jeannette Dolorme Farnum, who have both predeceased her. Lily enjoyed her annual trips with her husband and attending her sons’ hockey games! But mostly, loved family get togethers, especially when it included her children entertaining her with music!

Mom was the “life of the party”; joking, laughing, playing a mean game of dice and always dressing up for the occasion! She belonged to the Lewiston Seniors where she looked forward to seeing friends, playing Beano and an occasional lunch. Her annual bus trips to Lac Megantic for “Sugar Parties” was always a highlight!

The hats she crocheted were mostly donated to The Dempsey Center and given to the owners and workers of her favorite vacation places in Boothbay and Bar Harbors. Lily enjoyed shopping and getting good deals, always living life to its fullest!! Not a week went by without a meal of her favorite, Lobster.

Mom will be missed very much and leaves an empty spot in our hearts because she was so loved.

She leaves behind six children : Diane Martin and husband Paul, Connie Doucette and husband Michael, Yvette Pouzol and husband Richard, Tony Pinard and wife Diane, Brian Gagnon and wife Michelle, Gary Gagnon and wife Lori; this is her Catholic legacy.

She also leaves 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Lily was pre-deceased by her brother, Richard Farnum Jr., her first husband, Maurice A. Pinard who passed away in 1966 and two great-grandsons.

Visitation will be held Thursday May 27, 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m., at The Fortin Group Lewiston, 70 Horton St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 28, at SS.
