Back in the day, we’re told, just about every Lewiston neighborhood had its own market. If you needed a quart of milk for dinner, you could send your kid on a walk to that market and let him spend the change on penny candy. In this new age of Hannaford and Shaw’s and Walmart, we’re trying to figure out where all those Lewiston markets used to be. We’d also like to hear your recollections of them, and learn more about how important those stores were to your household. Send your memories or just hard facts to staff writer Mark LaFlamme at [email protected] or call 200-1481.
