Annie Russell

RUMFORD – Annie Russell, 81, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at Schooner Estates in Auburn. She resided on Raymond Street in Rumford.

Born in Lower Hainesville, New Brunswick, Canada on Dec. 16, 1939, she was a daughter of George and Mary Whitehead. Annie attended Higgins Classical Institute in Charleston, Maine, and was a graduate of Husson College. She worked as a bookkeeper for local nursing homes.

Annie was married in Charleston, on May 28, 1960, to Ronald M. Russell who died in Auburn on June 15, 2014.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Allen and husband Robert of Mechanic Falls, her son, Ronald E. Russell, Sr and his wife Lisa of Rumford, grandchildren, Sarah Allen and husband Bobby, Susan Bryant, Marie Lane and husband William, Richard Russell and fiancé Chelsea Bartlett, Ronnie Russell, great grandchildren, Reese Allen and Camryn Allen, brother-in-law Bourke Trask and wife Esther of Bangor, niece Elaine Randall, nephews Stephen Trask and Melvin Russell, Jr.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Rowena Russell and her husband Melvin, Sr., and Arilla Trask, nephews, David Williams, James Russell and Dale Trask, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Myrtle Williams.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday June 8, 2021, at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Rumford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
