LIVERMORE FALLS — The special town meeting scheduled for June 15 to raise $4.6 million more for the Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade is postponed for now.

Needed information was still being discussed with bond counsel. The meeting needs to be posted at least seven days ahead of the vote but time was running out on Tuesday.

The meeting will be rescheduled with a date to be determined, joint Sewer Superintendent Mark Holt said Tuesday.

The low bid for the project came in at $13.9 million, which is more than the February estimate of $12.2 million.

Voters agreed in 2019 to raise $3.9 million for a loan in what was estimated then as a $5.75 million upgrade. The rest was to be paid by grants. By November 2019, the estimated cost had risen to $7.75 million.
