DIXFIELD — Ludden Memorial Library, 40 Main St., is to host two programs this summer.
For adults, READ ME is back this year, a partnership with Maine Humanities Council and the Maine State Library. The program is comprised of two books by Maine authors, one fiction and one non-fiction, recommended by another Maine author.
This year’s titles, recommended by Gerry Boyle, are “Mill Town” by Kerri Arsenault and “Mainely Power” by Matt Cost. These books are available for check out at the library and will be remain on display throughout the summer. Virtual author talks are scheduled later this summer, with details to come.
For children, the library will again host a summer reading program, the theme of which is “Tails and Tales.” Children ages pre-school up to 14 can sign up by Friday, June 25.
The program will take place in July. A folder of information and materials will be provided to each child at the time of sign up.
Weekly prizes are to be offered for completing the reading requirements, take and make crafts, and a couple of programs. Details on the actual program events will come later.
Participants will also be entered into a raffle to win a tote-bag which will be on display at the library. The winner of this raffle will be drawn at the end of the program.
