Suppers

NORWAY — There will be a free Harvest Supper at the Norway Fire Station on September 25. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and everyone is invited. There will be live music and games for teens as well.

WATERFORD — Tuesday, August 31st: North Waterford Church Supper, 5:00-6:30, featuring ham, corn on the cob, cornbread, coleslaw, baked beans, and strawberry shortcake for dessert, all for $10. This supper will be drive-through, no reservation needed, the last public supper of the summer…all are welcome…and we’ll hope for our good old sit-down suppers next year!

POLAND — Newfoundland Day, Sept 11/21 at 4 pm. Buffet, band, and pleasant surprises, Maine Inn, Poland Spring Resort. Enjoy a fun evening while learning about Newfoundland. Everyone welcome.

HEBRON — Both Hebron and Minot Historical Societies will share a program featuring retired state trooper Percy Turner at the West Minot Grange Hall (intersection of routes 119 and 124) on Tues Sep 14 at 7 p.m. He will talk about the History of the Maine State Police. There will be a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish or dessert. Donations will be accepted. The public is invited. Masks are not required if vaccinated.

Sale

SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will hold its Annual Harvest Day and Barn Sale on September 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rain or Shine.

Activities include a bake sale, raffle baskets, and a raffle for a truckload of loam, beanhole bean lunch, and local hand-crafters. Church sales benefit the outreach work of the Congregational Church of East Sumner, which includes the Food Bank for the residents of Sumner.

The new addition to the Food Bank should be near completion. The church is accessible to all. Covid-19 safety precautions will be followed. The church is located at 50 Main Street on Rte. 219. For more information: Bill 388-2263 or Cyndy 388-2667.
