Rain is expected to arrive Wednesday night and become heavy at times as low pressure associated with the remnants of Hurricane Ida moves through southern New England, according to the National Weather Service. A few inches of rain is possible into Thursday with minor nuisance flooding the most likely impact.

The NWS did issue a flash flood watch for southwestern Maine. A flash flood watch is issued when conditions are favorable for flooding.
