The Western Maine Art Group plans to begin its annual BIG Exhibit with a First Friday Reception from 5 to 7 .m. Friday, Oct. 1, at the Matolcsy Art Center, 480 Main St., in Norway.

The opening reception will coincide with a reception at the nearby Main Street Gallery for artist-of-the-month Deb Deshon.

These galleries exhibit the work of fine artists and artisans living and working in Western Maine.

Offering an opportunity to display larger two-dimensional works, the BIG Show consists of imaginative artwork from Western Maine Art Group members and others. It will run through November. For open hours and other information, visit westernmaineartgroup.org.
