LEWISTON — A man stabbed during a fight in front of the former Dunkin’ on Main Street was taken by passersby across the street to Central Maine Medical Center, police Lt. Derrick St. Laurent said late Tuesday night.

The victim’s name was not being released.

Police were called to the scene about 5 p.m. for reports of a fight. A man was stabbed and was helped to the hospital, St. Laurent said.

Police believe the man and his assailant were known to each other.

At 9:30 p.m., police were talking with a suspect, St. Laurent said.
