LEWISTON — An officer with the Department of Corrections in Windham was arrested Monday morning on a charge of drunken driving and treated for a minor injury during the arrest, Androscoggin County Sheriff Eric Samson said Monday evening.

The officer, who the sheriff declined to identify, was brought to the Lewiston Police Department where he attempted to flee on foot as officers walked him inside.

He was brought to Central Maine Medical Center where an intoxilyzer test was administered and treatment given for a minor injury sustained during the arrest, Samson said.
