George B. Yankoski
LISBON – George B. Yankoski, 72, passed away on Oct. 4, 2021, at Central Maine Medical Center due to rapid complications of rheumatoid arthritis. He was born on Nov. 5, 1948, in Pennsylvania to the late Anthony P. Yankoski and Genevieve T. Rapczynski Yankoski. George was a Marine who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong employee of Kaminski Construction in Pennsylvania. When he retired, he moved to Maine with his daughter, Amy, and her family. He had a very special relationship with Amy, his son-in-law, Tom and grandsons Seth and Damon. George is survived by daughter, Tina Pell and husband Jeff (North Carolina), son, Adam Yankoski and wife Jane (Pennsylvania), daughter, Amy Miller and husband Tom (Maine); grandchildren Brittney Yankoski Uriostegui and husband Elvis (California), Brian Pell and wife Katie (North Carolina), Aaron Pell (Germany), Stephanie Yankoski (Pennsylvania), Alyssa Pell Budzisz and husband Jerry (North Carolina), Nick Yankoski (Nebraska), Seth Miller (Maine) and Damon Miller (Maine); great-grandchild, Presley Uriostegui (California). Also surviving are George’s four older siblings – brother Joseph (Texas), sister, Irene Stofey (Pennsylvania), sister, Jean Stofey (Pennsylvania), sister, Diane Detrick (Pennsylvania); many nieces and nephews. George loved his family, his very spoiled dogs Ghost and Fenrir, the military, Elvis, the show “Survivor”, the mountains, walks in the woods, drives to Bailey Island and nature in general. He will be deeply missed by those who love him. The family wishes to thank the staff at Central Maine Medical Center for their care and compassion. A private celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date. In his memory, donations to Autism Speaks, Wounded Warrior Project or the military charity of your choice would be appreciated.
