PARIS — Five fire departments responded Friday night to battle a garage fire in South Paris.

A wood stove started the fire at approximately 8:39 p.m. in a garage at 40 Stearns Hill Road, according to Paris Fire Department Deputy Chief Brad Frost. The garage was not connected to the main home.

West Paris Fire Department was the first to arrive on scene, but was later aided by Paris, Norway and Oxford departments. A crew from Woodstock responded as well and set up for water supply.

It took about two hours to extinguish the blaze and determine the cause.

No one was injured in the fire, Frost said. The garage was damaged beyond repair.
