Theodore S. Bamford
FAYETTE – Theodore “Ted” Bamford, 73, of Fayette, passed away on Nov. 14, 2021, at the Androscoggin Hospice House following a short illness. He was on March 2, 1948, in Livermore Falls, the eldest son of Stanley and Ardis (Wilcox) Bamford. He was educated in Fayette and Livermore Falls schools and graduated from Livermore Falls High School in 1967. He joined the U.S. Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam and Germany until his discharge in 1971. Ted married Laura Lowe in October 1971 in New Hampshire and they had one son, Jeremy. Ted worked for Bath Iron Works as a welder, Digital in Augusta, and he retired from Alternative Manufacturing in Winthrop. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, driving and collecting, building and painting models, many of which had to be done with the aid of a magnifying glass. He especially enjoyed bowling with his grandson Robbie. He was happiest while spending time with his grandchildren, Robbie and River.
Ted is survived by his son, Jeremy Bamford and wife Nicole of Fayette; grandchildren, River Bamford of Fayette, and Robert “Robbie” Bamford of Livermore Falls; brother, Dennis Bamford and wife Audrey, nephew, Bryce Bamford and wife Christina; niece, Lacy Badeau and husband Carl, great nieces and great nephew, Melissa Bamford, Jenna and Seth Badeau, all of Fayette; former wife, Laura Lemon of New Hampshire; and Philip Lemon of Florida. Ted was predeceased by his parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maine General Hospital and the Androscoggin Hospice House for their outstanding care and compassion.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, at 1 p.m., at the North Fayette Cemetery, North Road, in Fayette. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.
