DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to thank the person who found and turned in my gold necklace (Dec. 20 Sun Spots) with both a cross and a miraculous medal to the Walgreens on Sabattus Street.
When calling Walgreens again, I was told someone turned it in and they were holding it for me. I couldn’t believe it was found! I live in Monmouth and went over there immediately. Sure enough, it was my necklace! To the person who turned it in, my sincere thanks and a very “Merry Christmas” to you! You just made my Christmas! — Sharlene, Monmouth
ANSWER: I’m so glad this incident had a happy ending! Our keepsakes can become very precious to us.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was at the Auburn Mall this past Friday and lost the small rhinestone snowflake pin, about the size of a quarter, which was affixed to my coat. It was a gift from my daughter and I have had it for decades so it is special. If anyone has found it, please turn it in to Photo Finish. I’ll be checking in with them. — Audra, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A reader was asking about low-key shopping for gifts. I found a store at the Auburn Mall the other day called Mainely Crafts. I loved it! — Maggie, Auburn
ANSWER: It’s fun to browse through the crafts and choose something that the receiver would like to do to occupy their time during the long, dark winter.
Another great place to explore is Norway’s Main Street. I went recently and really enjoyed going into all the shops. It’s so much more satisfying than shopping online or being in a big-box store. I found stocking stuffers, sweatshirts for the grandchildren, and some yummy cheeses. My friend and I had a beautiful lunch at Dolce Amici and I even bought a gift for myself — a beautiful print by a local artist. It was a wonderful experience and there was no stress whatsoever!
