Blaine C. Brooks
LISBON – Blaine C. Brooks, 93, of Lisbon made his entrance into Heaven on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021. He passed away at the Marshwood Center in Lewiston, Maine. He was born in Kingman Township, Maine on April 4, 1928, to Edward and Helen Brooks as one of 12 children. He married his wife, Theresa Brooks, on Oct. 4, 1947 – they were married for 68 years before she passed away in 2016. He was by her side until the very end and his love for her was ever so clear in the way he took care of and prayed for her.He was a prayer warrior for his family too, with a strong sense of love and faith. He loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids more than words could describe – little ones had a way of making his eyes sparkle and he had a way with them too. He was one of the sharpest card players. He loved to play tricks, make jokes, and just be in the presence of his family. His smile and laughter when he’d crack one of his own jokes is memorable. Even when he didn’t have much to say, being around those he loved brought him so much joy.He touched so many hearts in his 93 years on this side and will be missed by so many – the one who would lead us in saying grace during family gatherings, lift his hand to worship on Sunday mornings, and stretch his hand out to pray without hesitation. He leaves behind his five children and their spouses, Chuck and Sherri Brooks, Barbara and Bryant Michaud, Deborah and Barry Houston, Kip and Debbie Brooks, and Faith and Dave Perron, as well as his 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind five of his siblings – Nancy Parker, Donna Scalia, Ruth Brown, Jeannette Martin and Dana Brooks. To the man known as Blaine, Pep, and Dad: thank you for your faith and love and for the legacy you have left behind. You helped set quite the foundation for your family. 93 years well lived, quite a blessing – you prayed with and for us at so many family gatherings, and now you get to rest in the best gathering place of them all. Well done, good and faithful servant!
