NORWAY — A week into 2022, Stephens Memorial Hospital has its New Year’s baby.

Bow Marrok Walker was born at 5:43 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7. Parents Shannon Schoonmaker and Billy Walker of Sumner welcomed the healthy 8-pound, 20½-inch boy, according to the hospital. Bow has a 13-year-old sister, Kaydence Snyder.

“We are so excited for the new addition to our family,” Schoonmaker said in a statement released by the hospital. ” We’ve been patiently anticipating his birth and are so happy he is here now. The doctors and nurses have all been amazing, especially attentive to all of our needs. We felt like we were all in great hands throughout our entire visit.”

Dr. Jeannette Andrews of Western Maine OB/GYN assisted in the delivery of Bow.

The hospital presented the family with with a gift bag of baby items and a gift card as part of the celebration.
