Richard “Rick” Salisbury

HARTFORD – Richard “Rick” Salisbury, 67, loving dad and cherished former partner, passed peacefully to his new beginning on March 6, 2022 at the Androscoggin Hospice house in Auburn.

Rick was born in Bar Harbor on Oct. 14, 1954, son of Wellington and Feodora (Moon) Salisbury. He grew up in Passadumkeag and graduated from Penobscot Valley High School in Howland, class of 1972.

He worked in the lumber industry for many years, which included sawmills and construction companies such as Cianbro. He was a skilled carpenter.

He moved to Hartford in 1987 where he built a log house. He married Debbie (Gammon) Salisbury in 1989. He started his own business building houses and doing carpentry/concrete jobs. Rick and Debbie were married for 21 years and raised two children, Megan and Derek. Rick’s extended family in Hartford loved him very much.

In Rick’s free time he enjoyed building, hunting, playing cards, dancing, traveling and family events. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. He was brutally honest, so if you didn’t want his opinion, don’t ask!

Rick is survived by his children Corey and Megan Salisbury in Maine, Shawn in Germany, and Derek Salisbury (Air Force) in Odenton, Md.; four grandchildren, Leighton, Jackie, Caleb and Adian, in Vermont; as well as a great-grandchild, Ben; his former partner, Debbie Salisbury; siblings include his sister, Brenda Pyle and his brother, James and Diana Salisbury. He also has many loved nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon and her husband Eugene Lugdon.

Celebration of life, Hartford Town Hall, April 2 at 2 p.m. Graveside service at Gould’s Ridge Cemetery, in Greenbush, April 3 at 11 a.m.
