Lewiston native Isaiah Harris finished in seventh place in the 800-meter at the World Indoor Championships on Saturday in Belgrade, Serbia.

Harris ran the race in 1:47.00, which is identical to his heat time Friday.

Spain’s Mariano Garcia won the race in 1:46.2, followed by Kenya’s Noah Kibet (1:46.35) and Bryce Hoppel (1:46.51) of the United States.

Harris finished the first 200-meter lap in seventh place, with Canada’s Marco Arop in first, pushing the pace. Arop finished in eighth with a time of 1:47.58. 

Harris, who runs professionally for Brooks, finished the second lap in last place before attempting to make a move 50 meters later. Harris moved into sixth place with a lap remaining but was boxed out on the six-lane track from making a move to the front.
