JAY — The New Life Baptist Church services this Sunday challenged the hearts of the people. The Adult Bible classes continued teaching on “Living in Confident Christianity.” These lessons serve as solid encouragement to live life in a way that honors the Lord.
The morning worship service opened with vibrant and uplifting music. The music leader, Dan Lowell, sang the song “Hallelujah,” a powerful song highlighting the resurrection of the Lord. It set the mood for Pastor Grimbilas, who taught a message entitled, “God Sees More In You Than You Do.” From the book of Judges, chapter 6, Pastor Grimbilas followed the life of Gideon. He started the story hiding, afraid, and trying to scrounge together some food for his people. Gideon learned, however, that no one can hide from God. When the Angel of the Lord told him that he would be used by God to save his nation, Gideon had no idea how that could happen. In our lives, when we get overwhelmed and afraid, God knows we can do more than we think we can. It is the Lord builds us to make us better than we thought we could be.
In the afternoon praise and prayer service, CJ Grimbilas preached from Nehemiah, chapter six on a work wrought for God. It was a great encouragement regarding allowing the Lord to work in you and through you.
After the service, Pastor Grimbilas went over the coming events for the church. Next week, New Life Baptist Church will host the Agee family, a musically talented family of seven. The Agees will be performing at all service next week. The church is also hosting a Monday night concert by the Agee family and special services on Tuesday, April, 12.
Pastor Grimbilas also announced plans for Easter Weekend. On Good Friday, 6:00 pm on April, 15th, there will be a “Walk Through The Resurrection,” an interactive trip through the Easter story. There will be games and prizes. Those who come will get to meet the characters of Mary, Peter, and many others. Pastor Grimbilas also announced the Resurrection Sunday music program, which will be at 10:30 Easter Sunday morning. There will be a meal following the service. Everyone is invited to these special events.
New Life Baptist Church is located at 66 Hyde Rd. in Jay. Regular services are at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm.
