Rose Marie “Rosey” Roy

LEWISTON – It is with a heavy heart that we share that our beloved mother, Rose Marie “Rosey” Roy, passed away on April 17, 2022. Rosey was known for her strong will. She fought a year long health battle and continued to stay strong through her final days.

Rosey was born to Theresa and George Roy of Lewiston on August 7, 1956. She worked in the mills as a spinner for 30 years. She was known for her strong work ethic. She was independent, witty and resilient. She loved to explore nature, spend long days at the ocean, seek adventures, go to amusement parks, and be surrounded by family.

In life and her final days, she believed in her Catholic faith. Her religion helped her through many hardships. She carried on the value of helping others and believing in more than oneself to her children.

Rosey was predeceased by her father George; brother Tony and sister Michelle. She is survived by her partner Robert Patriquin; daughters Rebecca Drouin and Tabitha Patriquin; five grandchildren Sophia, Isabella, Benjamin, Carmen and Carson; her mother Theresa; and her four sisters Dorothy, Linda, Mary and Lisa.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Prince of Peace Parish, The Dominican Sisters, the staff at CMMC and Androscoggin Hospice for your incredible care and support to Rosey and her family.

The family will have a private family gathering and welcome others to join them for the funeral at the Basilica at 11 a.m. on April 25.
