LEWISTON — In celebration of State Farm’s 100th anniversary, agents in Maine hosted a virtual 5K to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs. Agents and employees were encouraged to participate in the event, which they completed virtually between April 18 and May 1.

Lewiston-based agent Lisa Laliberte was among the 20 agents who set a goal to donate $10,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the state. They exceeded expectations and reached $12,000, which will be shared among four clubs.

“We were able to contribute much-needed funding to help the Boys & Girls Clubs support their mission of inspiring and enabling young people to realize their full potential as responsible, productive and caring citizens,” Laliberte said.

“There are 20,000 kids waiting for after-school programs in southern Maine alone,” Brian Elowe, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine chief executive officer, said. “Our programs offer academic arts, health and wellness, and leadership programs for kids ages 6 to 18 years old in the greater Portland and Auburn-Lewiston area. This donation will support as many kids as possible. Thank you, State Farm!”
