Gerald W. Burpee was named the Outstanding Young Man for 1972 by the Lewiston-Auburn Jaycees during their meeting held at Happy Jack’s Restaurant, in Lewiston. Burpee, 33, is a licensed funeral practitioner and is vice-president of Albert Funeral Services Inc. He is a graduate of St. Dominic’s Regional High in 1956 and received his degree from the New England Institute of Anatomy. He spent three years in the Marines. Currently president of the Lewiston Exchange Club, he is a member of St. Patrick’s Church Men’s Club. He has been active in the Madison School for the Retarded and took and took youngsters to Boston last year to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox.
