STATE — More than $60,000 in Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF) grants will help strengthen nonprofit organizations and projects in Oxford County. The eight grants through MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program include $59,278 recommended by the Oxford County Committee and two additional grants totaling $18,000 from people with donor-advised funds.
Grant recipients include:
Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, Norway, to expand oncology support services to cancer patients in western Maine
Center for an Ecology Based Economy, Norway, for community home-weatherization projects and workshops to improve home heating and cooling efficiency
River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, Rumford, to provide essential services for low-income families and seniors in the River Valley region.
The Oxford County Fund is a permanent endowment that supports projects and nonprofit organizations that strengthen communities. Proposals are submitted through MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program, the foundation’s largest, and are reviewed by a committee of community members.
