Equestrian instructor Katherine Ludewig laughs as Wrapper mugs for the camera Wednesday morning in the barn at Blazing Star Stables in Monmouth. She painted the lips of each horse a different color for campers to apply to a canvas for a unique piece of artwork. Between riding, learning and taking care of the animals, campers learn many other skills while doing fun activities with the animals, whom Ludewig has cobbled together from bartering, buying and castoffs. Each horse has its own color-coordinated matching buckets, lead lines and halters. There is a picture of horses with their color and name above their stall for easy identification for the campers.
