
Laurier “Larry” M. Marcoux
AUBURN – Laurier “Larry” M. Marcoux, 71, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at home on June 7, 2022. Born in Lewiston on Nov. 19, 1950, son of Lucien P. Marcoux and Jeannette Levesque. Larry graduated form Lewiston High School and attended the University of Southern Maine where he received his masters degree in public policy.
Larry was the Director of Community Impact for the United Way of Androscoggin for 20 years.
He was a former history teacher at Lewiston High School and assistant athletic director under Don Girard for many years. He was a lifelong fan of Lewiston high school sports and loved teaching.
He served on many non-profit boards especially the Auburn/Lewiston Breakfast Club.
Larry a true sports enthusiast enjoyed 20-plus years as a Patriots season ticket holder, a Notre Dame football team fan. Enjoyed going the Red Sox, Portland Seadogs baseballs games and cheered for any team that beat the New York Yankees and the New York Jets. He was a loyal and lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadians.
Larry had a wonderful hearty laugh and sense of humor which endeared him to so many of his fellow friends and work associates.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, a brother, and a special young man, Kevin Collins, son of Richard and Jane Collins.
Larry will be sadly missed by Richard and Jane Collins and their daughter Annie Collins, his football friend Ken St. Amand, cousin Claudette Lynch, her children Julie and Tim, several cousins, an aunt, his cat Kalie and many associates he connected with.
A private committal service to be held at a later date at St Peter’s Cemetery.
