Freddie G. Richard

PORTLAND – It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Freddie G. Richard, 83. He passed away peacefully after a stroke on Wednesday evening, July 13, 2022, at Maine Medical Center in Portland after being surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 24, 1938, in Farmington, Maine, to Diana R. Richard and Ivan J. Richard. Freddie and his sister Dolores Miller survived the death of both parents. Freddie, and his highly regarded and loving wife Kathy who passed in March 2002 from ALS, were proud parents to three children, Freddie, Nancy and Noreen.

Freddie, a quiet and strategic thinker, was an entrepreneur who enjoyed variety. He owned and operated an auto repair shop, purchased several properties in Maine and Florida and worked briefly for several firms. He loved being at and sailing on the pond in Roxbury as well as playing cards and dominoes with his family. He is known for putting others first, teasing and being teased and always being willing to help.

He is survived by his three children, three grandchildren, sister Dolores and brother-in-law Robert Miller and his devoted companion, Susan L. Scott.
