Murray L. Putnam

RUMFORD – Murray L. Putnam, 73, passed away Aug. 10, 2022, at the Rumford Hospital. He was a resident of Peru.

Born in Rumford, on June 14, 1949, he was the son Merwyn and Juainita (Tardy) Putnam. He was a graduate of Stephens High School. He served in the U.S. Marines and was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. Murray worked at Timberlands Inc., Diamond Match and Poland Springs until he became disabled.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Tammy and Dan Pelletier, his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Vance, Scott Haywards Jr., and Taylor Pelletier who called him Bumpa, brothers Merwyn Putnam, Jr and companion Marcia and Wayne Putnam and wife Gail of Peru, nephews, Merwyn Putnam, III, and Nathan Putnam, nieces Joline Putnam and Liza Virgin. He was predeceased by his wife Cynthia and his parents Merwyn and Juainita.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at the Demeritt Cemetery in Peru. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, Maine.
