Citizens of Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties have an outstanding opportunity to make their communities safer and an overall better place to live.

In this coming November election, Deputy District Attorney Neil Mclean is running for the position of district attorney. Neil is a lifelong friend who I know to be driven, honest, thoughtful and fair.

His substantial experience as a prosecutor, his military background (U.S. Army Special Forces trained), hometown Maine upbringing, and compassion toward all human beings — regardless of race, religion, background, financial standing or political affiliation — make him a perfect choice for district attorney.

Neil McLean would not be a district attorney who would be too hard or too soft on crime; he would be fair and just, which is what we all want from a district attorney.

I hope voters will join me in supporting him in November.
