RUMFORD — After two years, the Oktoberfest is back at Hope Association at 85 Lincoln Avenue.

This is a fundraiser that will better able us to help individuals who attend Hope pay for activities in the community, those that Maine Care does not cover. Things like joining local clubs, eating out in our area, concerts, races, bowling, swimming, and all kinds of other cool things that they might not get to enjoy.

It is also a time for Rotary to promote literacy in our community by providing a kid’s room with free books and selling hard and soft-cover books for very little. The funds paid to Rotary support our local scholarship fund.

We are looking for a few volunteers to help for just 2.5-3 hour shifts that day. Helping with kids’ games, serving pancake breakfast, selling 50/50 tickets, face painting, selling Pizza for lunch, and just enjoying the fellowship.

If you have a few hours to spare on Saturday, October 8 anywhere between 7:30/8 a.m. and 2 p.m., I would love to hear from you. You can reply to me or give me a call at 357-8705.
