Linda A. Spear
CANTON – Linda A. Spear, 69, passed away peacefully in her home on Oct. 17, 2022. Linda was born on Dec. 13, 1952, in Lewiston, youngest daughter of the late Clarence “Tanny” and Edith (Harlow) Arnold Jr. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1971. She then continued her education at Central Maine Technical College and graduated with a degree in Nursing in 1989. She married Harold Spear on Dec. 26, 1974, after a short courtship. They resided in Turner, Maine for many years and were active members in the community before buying property and moving to Canton in 2002.
Linda was known for her love of cats big and small, taking over nana’s knitting of the sacred Christmas stocking, and spoiling her grandchildren. She lived for her family and loved getting together with friends for lunch or a game of cards.
Linda is survived by her husband, Harold Spear of Canton, brother, Clifford “Kip” Arnold and wife Barbara of Turner, lifelong friends Gayle Flagg of Norway and Joanne Gendreau of Durham and their families, her sons Michael Spear and wife Renee of Canton, Christopher Spear and companion Brie Landry of Lewiston, stepdaughter Robin Alexander and husband Scott of Livermore, and stepsons Danny Spear of Livermore and Jimmy Spear of Walpole, Mass., her cherished grandchildren Heather Spear, Hunter Driscoll, Gunner Spear, Ayverrie Spear, Teagan Spear, Dalton “DJ” Spear, Joshua Spear, Keith Spear, Robert Woodbury and Alicia Spear, and great-grandchildren Payton Spear, Arlan and Zoraida Woodbury, Caleb Campbell, Braylee, Natalee and Emmalee Spear, Logan and Kaylee Prior and many nieces and nephews. Family was of the upmost importance to Linda.
Linda was predeceased by her sister Nancy Davenport, brother-in-law Henry Davenport III, nephew Henry Davenport IV, mother Edith (Harlow) Arnold, father Clarence Arnold Jr., and a great grandson Michael C. Spear (infant).

Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
